Meet Peterson and Celia
|
 |
In 1987 Celia Pereira, a
Brazilian citizen, had a desire to work in Kenya after reading
about a woman from Holland who had died from cerebral malaria
after working with the Kenyans. The question of who would go
and help serve the people of Kenya was asked, and Celia knew
that God was calling her there. It was during Celia’s first
trip to Kenya, in 1998, when she had received a vision from
God to help the orphans and abandoned children of the country
of Kenya. | |
Two years later she had moved to Kenya,
where she had met her husband Peterson Ngao, they married in 2002.
Together they have two biological children, Shalanna who was born in
2003 and Lucas who was born in 2006. They have also adopted a son
from Brazil, Julian who was born in 1993. Julian was adopted by
Celia when he was only 9 days old in Northern Brazil. He enjoys
living in Kenya and is currently in his first year of secondary
school. He would like to go to America and to study and become an
aeronautical engineer. Shalanna is currently attending the preschool
here on the YWAM base . Lucas is their youngest who enjoys spending
time here on the base playing with all the staffers and volunteers.
Both Peterson and Celia share the vision of helping the
needy children in Kenya and desire to get their ministry, Hope and
Healing Children’s Homes, up off the ground. The ministry is located
at the YWAM Athi-River base, where they hope to house 8 couples with
12 fostered children each. Peterson and Celia believe that children
are God’s special creation that are in need of personal attention,
and proper love that cannot be given in large groups.
Peterson loves music and they have produced their first
audio CD with his family. They trust the Lord for funds to produce
their first video as well. These productions are to glorify our
creator and eventually help towards their family and ministry
expenses. |
| Their monthly staff fees
are covered. They would appreciate any donation as a
family towards medical, transport, communication etc. For
