Hosting Teams

YWAM is international and interdenominational in its global scope as well as in its local constituency. Our setup is almost perfect for hosting international YWAM teams or teams from oversees churches to give them exposure into missions.

We believe that ethnic, linguistic and denominational diversity, along with redeemed aspects of culture, are positive factors that contribute to the health and growth of the Mission. We have hosted teams from Malaysia, Switzerland,Canada, Tonga, Korea, Germany, Norway, Holland, Ferro Island, South Africa, Australia and Jamaica. We have many opportunities for foreign teams such as church and DTS outreaches. As evangelism is meant to be the major focus on DTS outreaches, we have no lack of providing such opportunities in our surrounding villages, schools, hospitals and the juvenile section of Nairobi's maximum security prison.

Nairobi is only 45 km (30 miles) away from us. It is easily reached by public transportation. Therefore this will satisfy those who prefer the urban type of outreach. We organize hospital visits, open-air, school ministries, evangelistic outreaches into Masailand and also along the Kenyan coast among some unreached people groups mainly of Muslim and animistic religious background. We host Kids/Youth camps during our school holidays.
Summer of Service for Volunteers

Recently we have had volunteers from Germany, Switzerland, America, Sweden, Finland and Australia. They participated in our day to day work, evangelism, hospital visits, pre-school and primary/secondary school visits. We also can connect interested people with orphanages in Nairobi that are focusing on AIDS/HIV. Most of them do not provide accommodation, so volunteers would need to commute into the city and back. There is also practical work available for those who have a green finger and are willing to apply themselves to landscaping. At times painting or pluming work is necessary.

We host local church groups. Various Christian ministries have used our facilities for weekend retreats, seminars and fasting. Life Ministry and The Navigators are regular visitors. Nairobi university students use our facilities for retreats. We live on 70 acres of virgin farm land, where everybody can find a place to walk and sit and just fellowship with Jesus. This is an opportunity for us to make YWAM known and share our calling and vision.
